Who this covers

FoundTheMove ("we") is an event discovery reader for Black cultural events. This policy covers foundthemove.com, foundthemove.lovable.app, and anything we operate under those domains. It doesn't cover third-party sites we link to (Instagram, ticketing sites, venue pages) — their own policies apply.

What we collect

  • Account email + password when you sign up. If you use Google sign-in we receive your Google email and basic profile.
  • Your saves, follows, and vibe-quiz answers so we can build your feed and remember what you liked.
  • What you submit to us: links, screenshots, curator nominations, claim-form details (name, contact email, proof link), and any messages you send.
  • Notify-me emails if you sign up for city coverage or the Thursday Drop.
  • Your mobile number only when you turn on text reminders. We use it to send a confirmation code and, after you confirm, reminders about events you saved or accounts you follow.
  • Outbound click counts — aggregate counters on ticket links, DM CTAs, and share buttons so we can see what works.
  • Standard server logs (IP, user-agent, request path) for security and abuse prevention.

Text reminders

We collect your mobile number only when you turn on text reminders. We use it to send your confirmation code and, only after you confirm, reminders about events you saved or accounts you follow. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or turn texts off in Profile. Reply HELP to receive support contact details.

Analytics and screen recordings

We measure how the site gets used, so we can see where a reader gets stuck. Three parts to that, and you should know all three.

  • What we measure — which pages you open and which buttons you tap. Signed out, it sits against a random browser ID, not against you. When you sign in, that browser's activity links to your account ID — never your email, your name, or your number. Our own team's browsing is switched off completely.
  • Screen recordings, phones only — on a phone we record the screens you open, your taps, and your scrolling, so we can watch where the page fails people. Anything you type is hidden before it leaves your phone, and so is your email address wherever a page shows it back to you. We don't record any of this on a computer.
  • A cookie — we keep a random ID in your browser, in a cookie and in local storage, so a second visit reads as the same reader instead of a new one. It holds no name and no email. Clearing your browser data clears it.

The tool is PostHog. This data sits on their servers in the United States, and we don't send it anywhere else.

What we never do

  • We don't sell your data. Ever.
  • We don't run ad networks or third-party ad trackers on the site.
  • We don't take pay-to-play from venues or promoters. No sponsored ranking.

How we use it

To render your feed, deliver the emails you opted into, verify curator claims, prevent abuse, and improve which events surface. Click data helps us understand which events and curators land. We don't sell it and we don't hand it to advertisers.

Retention

Account data lives until you delete your account. Submissions and claim records are kept as long as we operate, so we can defend the co-sign trail. Server logs rotate within 30 days. Notify-me emails stay until you unsubscribe.

Your controls

You can unsubscribe from any email via the link in that email. To delete your account or request removal of your data, email privacy@foundthemove.com (or hello@foundthemove.com). We'll confirm within a reasonable window.

Kids

FoundTheMove isn't directed at children under 13. Don't sign up if you're under 13.
